People and planet are at the core of our principles towards becoming a more sustainable business.

People

We have multiple partnerships with incredibly important charities. Here are a few we have been working with.

bigmoose

+

We have continued our partnership with bigmoose, a mental health charity, who provide support to individuals who are struggling without any need to meet a criteria or receive a referral. In 2025, we supported bigmoose by participating in their Ultra Fun Run to raise awareness of the importance of our mental health. 6,069 runners took part, each representing one life lost to suicide in England and Wales.

British Heart Foundation

+

Having established an initiative with the British Heart Foundation to offer a free furniture collection service to our customers, helping us to develop a more circular business. Our partnership with BHF continues to grow, with us also directly providing furniture that we are unable to reuse ourselves that can be sold to help fund lifesaving research.

Other causes

+

- Raised money for Macmillan by taking part in their annual coffee morning

- Took part in the Salvation Army’s Christmas Toy Appeal

- Released a limited edition Pride Multidrawer for Pride month and donated £10 of each sale to Stonewall.

Our customers

We continue to support our customers across diverse sectors by playing an active role in sustainable project delivery. Our furniture has been integral to fit-outs that have achieved leading sustainability certifications, including LEED, WELL, and BREEAM.

Planet

We believe that transparency is integral to sustainable development, especially concerning emissions. We set our baseline in 2018 for Scopes 1&2, and we have continued to work towards our Net Zero goals since. You can see our progress below:

Emissions

We have seen a steep decline in our Scope 1 and 2 emissions since 2018, this year, our energy intensity ratio has increased by 21%. Because the carbon intensity ratio is calculated using emissions per million pounds of turnover, temporary reduction in revenue can cause the ratio to rise.

As a manufacturer which operates on a largely made-to-order basis, we continue to produce high-quality items that are tailored to customer requests, even during periods when turnover is lower. Maintaining this approach is essential to reducing waste, preventing overproduction, and ensuring we only manufacture what is needed. While this commitment occasionally results in shifts in our intensity ratio, it remains a core part of our sustainable production model.

See our sustainability report for further information.

Energy consumption

We continue to source 100% renewable electricity backed by Renewable Energy Guarantees of Origin (REGO) certificates. As a result, our market-based Scope 2 emissions remain at zero. We have also seen a decrease of 8% in our location-based Scope 2 emissions year on year. We continue to look at ways we can electrify some of our gas-powered operations to transition to more renewably powered alternatives.

Waste and circularity

Reduce

In line with the waste hierarchy, we prioritise the reduction of waste materials onsite. For example, wood cut-offs are repurposed to reinforce pallets used for shipments. Surplus materials are reused in production where possible, and equipment calibration is undertaken regularly to ensure maximisation of material use efficiency.

We have also streamlined our e-commerce packaging to reduce packaging time by half, reducing energy consumption and creating a better customer experience.

Reuse

While we do not operate our own take-back scheme, we partner with charities and businesses who help us close this gap. These include British Heart Foundation, Clearabee, and Waste to Wonder. All three of these offer furniture take-back options and reuse or refurbish the items to extend their product lifecycle and improve circularity.

See our latest report for more information.

Recycle

We operate a robust waste segregation process which helps us ensure that materials are effectively recycled. We can proudly say that 100% of our wood, metal, general waste, plastic, and cardboard is diverted from landfill. We also engage with local Newport business, Wastesavers, who aim to increase recycling in the region whilst providing jobs to the local community. They have reuse and repair cafes across the region and kindly collect our plastic bottles and cans from our site in Newport.

Treeapp

Our direct impact is limited, so we engage with Treeapp with the hope of extending our contribution towards some of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. Treeapp supports projects which contribute and address ecological crises and social injustices in globally impacted areas. We are pleased to say that we have raised our total donation amount to 2,185 trees with Treeapp in 2025. We have helped contribute to projects across 3 different countries - Haiti, Peru, and Ethiopia. In 2026, we’re expanding this partnership by having paint sample orders trigger a donation to Treeapp.
