Product information

Which size suspension files do your products take?

It depends on the product, so check the individual product pages on our website for more information.

If you already have a Bisley product that takes suspension files, you’ll find details on where to position the file bar(s) in the accompanying leaflet. You can also download leaflets via the individual product pages on our website.

How do I identify a Bisley product/model number?

It depends on the product and when it was manufactured:

  • For all products currently manufactured – a label shows the full product code, colour and manufacturing date.
  • For products manufactured before 2007 – a label shows the initials F.C.B., the product group and manufacturing date.

Where to find the label:

  • On products with drawers and combination units – the label is on the underside of the top drawer.
  • On products with doors or shutters – the label is at the top on the back panel inside the carcase.

What is the warranty period on Bisley products?

It ranges from one to ten years, depending on the product. You’ll find full details in the ‘Features and benefits’ section on the individual product pages of the website.

What quality standards do Bisley products comply with?

Most of our products are tested to the following standards:

  • BS EN 14074:2004 - Office furniture.

Tables and desks and storage furniture. Test methods for the determination of strength and durability of moving parts.

  • BS EN 14073-2:2004 - Office furniture.

Storage furniture. Safety requirements.

  • BS EN 14073-3:2004 - Office furniture.

Storage furniture. Test methods for the determination of stability and strength of the structure.

There are exceptions, so check the individual product pages on our website for more details. Also, bear in mind that product ‘type testing’ means that the example unit tested – usually the largest in the range – is deemed to be representative of the entire range.

Are your cabinets fireproof?

Our cabinets aren’t classed as fireproofed, so we don’t claim they give any form of fire protection to the contents. Fireproofed cabinets are double-skinned, filled with fire retardant material and only available from specialist manufacturers at a high price premium.

In a severe fire, a normal steel cabinet won’t catch alight, but the contents will simply ‘cook’ (char). We do have certification to BS 476: Part 7: ‘Surface spread of flame’ for our painted surfaces and plastic tambours.
